Florida 6-Hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) (FLDETS)
This 6-Hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course is required for first time Florida driver license applicants under the age of 18. Successful completion of a Driver Education Traffic Safety Course (DETS) is mandated by Florida Florida Statute (F.S.) 322.095 and 322.1615. This course has been approved by the Florida Dept of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles indicating it meets or exceeds the Florida Dept of Education (FDOE) Traffic Safety 1900300 description. This program covers state laws demonstrating knowledge of traffic laws and safe driving, understanding all preparations necessary to drive a motor vehicle, understanding how to interact with law enforcement in traffic and special situations and understanding how to drive and react in emergency situations.
