Florida 4-Hour Traffic Law Substance Abuse Education (FLTLSAE)
This Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education program is required for first time Florida driver license applicants aged 18 years or older. Successful completion of the Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education course (TLSAE) is mandated by Florida Statute (F.S.)322.095 for all first time drivers aged 18 or older. The program covers state laws, the effects of alcohol and drugs on driving, and techniques for avoiding crashes.

- This course is for students 18 years of age or older to qualify for a Driver License or Learner's Permit.
- If you are under 18 years of age, take the 6-Hour Driver Education Traffic Safety (DETS) course to qualify for a Driver License or Learner's Permit.
